KISMET is a darkly comic, meta-theatrical play about a Turkish immigrant couple in the U.S. trying to survive through food delivery work—until life unexpectedly delivers them onto a theater stage. Jumping between their past in Turkey, their journey to the U.S., and the chaos of their present, the play blends memory, performance, and absurd mishaps. Inspired by our experiences and other immigrants’ stories, KISMET shows that sometimes the best way to face fear—and stay sane—is to write your own story, laugh at the mess, and let immigrant voices shine onstage.
